Champions League, EHF 2020
EHF, the European Handball Federation, selected us from 27 agencies across 12 European countries to design and produce the new trophies for the Champions League Final 4, the Europe Cup for handball.
According to the EHF, these trophies are intended to change the history of this sport by awarding the same prize to both men and women.
The European Handball Cup is a first-class event that, due to its impact, has been used as a means to convey a message of commitment to various current issues such as gender inequality or climate change.
For the first time, a top sport will award the same trophy to the winners of the female and male championships, as they have chosen two trophies that do not show formal differences between them by avoiding biases about masculinity or femininity in the design.
The idea of the goal as the main objective of the game and the shield as a representation of the essence of team sports form the starting point for the design of the new trophy. A net made of recycled aluminum, receiving the impact of the ball at full speed, forms a paraboloid that acts as a housing for the regulation-size ball.
